Amazing $30 Map-Making Humble Bundle Is a Virtual Tabletop GM's Dream

After a short availability back in April, the Map Making Mega Bundle has returned with an encore available until Dec. 2. Hailed as an extensive collection of mapping tools created by ProFantasy Software throughout their history, the complete package is valued at over $1,300. And there are three different bundles available here.

Primary Feature

The standout feature is certainly a lifetime license to the CC3+ software, an industry-standard cartography program that can be used to generate various types including epic fantasy landscapes, detailed regional charts, city maps, and, perhaps most importantly, tactical combat environments.

Bundle Tiers

Entry Level

The cheapest bundle tier, at a minimum cost of $1, features merely four from the thirty-nine available products: Symbol Set 1: Fantasy Overland, Monster Token Pack 1, Castle Source Maps, Urban Source Maps. This package suits existing CC3+ users, but it does offer fresh fantasy design elements for overworld maps, more than 750 monster tokens compatible with online gaming platforms, more than two dozen top-down castle layouts with 470 associated map tokens, eight complete urban centers, and more than 70 urban floorplans.

Mid-Range Option

The eight-item bundle for at least $15 offers enhanced value by adding in a lifetime CC3+ license, Cartographer's Annual Vol 1, Ultimate Mapping Guidebook, and Symbol Set 6: Isometric Cities. The Annual represents the yearly bundle from the company's ongoing subscription program which includes multiple CC3+ enhancements like map collections and various other tools. Isometric Cities lets you display cities with an extra dimension using angled views from multiple angles. Meanwhile, the Mapping Tome is a 760-page suitable for novices and experts, full of tips and tutorials covering cartography techniques.

Every volume from the Annual series are included here, plus numerous other resource and asset packs enabling creators to craft complete solar systems, or focus exclusively on traditional fantasy world-building: combat arenas, underground complexes, cities, and land masses from almost any perspective. You can even design character portraits. At thirty versus fifteen dollars, the complete collection offers tremendous value, particularly for mappers with temporary CC3+ access and want to upgrade to lifetime. However, it's clearly an even better deal for map-making newbies since it includes introductory guides to help you get started. The one caveat here is that while you can redeem the deal across platforms, the software is only usable with Windows systems.

Philanthropic Aspect

As with other Humble Bundles, a portion of each sale supports charitable organizations. For this one, that's Save the Children, an organization founded by Eglantyne Jebb in 1919 focused on improving the lives of children worldwide through education, health care, and emergency relief.
