Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for next month's boxing match.
Ex twice world boxing king Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I'm going to damage his features and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
In spite of such comments, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Still, the novice continues to be one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, consistently making massive earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would derail the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul met for the customary confrontation, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really happening.
